Headed from sw to ne. Too close to ground and too large to avoid an impact. Amazing flaming reddish brown orb with flaming tail moving at a very high rate of speed fairly level downward trajectory. I had just stepped out to walk my dog. In and out of my field of vision (our house and trees). Long flaming tapered tail. Licking flames

Remarks
Bright ball of fire and flames. Flaming red/brown tail that thinned out. Too much mass for a small plane. Tail several hundred feet long. Just above hills across Columbia River. Too close to avoid an impact on ground
