Reports Report 1764s (Event 1764-2013)

Observer
Name Dana L
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was originally looking, northeast, at the stars, having enjoyed the Perseid shower a few days earlier. Out of the corner of my right eye, I thought I was seeing an aircraft's landing light for a second or two. When I turned to view it, I realized it was one of the slowest meteor descents I've witnessed, and closest to the ground when it disappeared. It was almost like a descending flare, with a short trail 2-3 degrees in length. My direct viewing of it lasted another 2-3 seconds. If it reached the ground, my estimation for impact would be southeast Visalia, or rural areas between Visalia and Farmersville.
