Remarks I saw a green comet in the Southern sky. At first I thought it was a jet as they approach the airport from that direction. It kept getting lower but was going sideways to my right. It made me wonder if I was seeing a jet crash. Then it broke into about 5 pieces, which burned bright green. It had a very long tail or train after it with some yellow colors too. Super cool to watch. Took about half a minute in total.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I stopped my truck mid street to watch it! Yes, it was bright when it began then got brighter, more of a aurora borealis green glow with orange center.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks The head broke up into about 5-large chunks. Reminded me of the shuttle explosion & its breaking up on re-entry.
