I really thought it was a leftover firework until the reports matched my observations... I described what I saw to wife before hearing published reports of a green streak and sonic boom... I described it to her as a lone green firework in sky.

I thought that somone had launched a green star shell firework... green ball that fragmented at a high angle in the sky... seen through trees... which made me think it was an odd place to launch a firework. I heard no report but the dog was acting funny and she hates loud noises. Makes sense in retrospect.
