Observation occured in moving vehicle where I was passager, going northeast on northbound USHWY 40. Driver also observed same fireball as bright glow caught our attention.

It grew brighter until it appeared to pop into light blue light that momentarily flashed the whole sky into early dawn in appearance. Trail visible for 5 seconds as light dissipated and darkness returned where visibility was lost.
