It went dim then further it burst and split into 3 spinning pieces causing a gaseous cloud illuminated around the edges.

The 3 pieces then looked like dim orange embers spinning counter clockwise. 1 fragment went up and faded. The second went off to the right and continued on indefinitely. The third went left and then seemed to linger.
