Reports Report 151f (Event 151-2023)

Observer
Name Iain G
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I was driving due north on an empty dark single track road and clearly saw a very bright silent orange object streaking north in a fairly clear sky. The trajectory appeared quite flat. I saw it first in my right peripheral vision as it travelled NNW across the sky for several seconds. I had the time to wind down my window but heard no sound of aircraft which are regularly seen and heard locally (Typhoons and formerly Tornadoes, and in the past 6months large Atlas aircraft on training flights). I have asked a few people but no-one else has reported or witnessed this. I have seen many shooting stars but this was brighter, larger and of longer duration. Looking at The Night Sky app i would say the onject was travelling NNW andI saw it pass in front of Ursa Major.
