The time given is our best estimate. We unfortunately didn't have the mind to record the exact time after the event. We can say with absolute confidence it was after 11:25pm and before 11:56pm.
It lit the sky like lightning with a flash somewhat larger than a smart phone held at arms length.
The line it made was nearly verticle and the whole thing was to the left of Mackinac Island from our perspective.
I am interested if any other reports have been made around this time and place.

Lit up sky like lightning, a straight line heading to a graylight explosion that was somewhat circular.
