| Remarks | We were photographing incoming passenger jets as they approached DFW Airport from the south. We didn’t see the event, but we heard it loudly over the incoming jets. We were confused as it was a loud tunneling roar, like a fighter jet going down a toilet, emitting a series of loud pops before a thunderous boom. As we turned to the north, we saw a distinct vapor trail, many thousands of feet over the airport. It was not made by any aircraft as I use the Flight Radar app on my phone, which showed no high altitude overflights at that time, approximately 6:50 pm. |
