Reports Report 7566e (Event 7566-2023)

Observer
Name Maximilian K
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks This was one of the most magical things I have seen while living in Flagstaff. I am really hoping that someone has video footage of the event. I have contacted Lowell Observatory, our local observatory which is most famous for hosting Clyde Tombaugh who went on to discover Pluto, to see if they have any information or if they captured the event.

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks The meteor (or fireball) fragmented about halfway through its pathing across the sky. As it fragmented, there was a brief bright blue flash which then dissipated into faint green fragments
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks After its separation, there were approximately 6 faint green fragments that dispersed, each leaving smaller trails behind them that dissipated quickly. This was the most stunning part of the sighting. It looked like a firework that traveled linearly instead of outwardly from a center point.
