Reports Report 987pt (Event 987-2024)

Observer
Name James A
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks There was a southbound plane landing at Dulles Airport (IAD), and on first glance I thought this was a MANPAD terrorist attack against the landing jetliner, since the meteor was bight and heading north very fast relative to the slow landing plane was heading south. The illusion was that they would collide. When I saw the bright white "sparks" behind the meteor, I suspected that it was indeed a meteor. The passengers on the right (west) side of that southbound plane must have had one hell of a view of it.
