Reports Report 1164s (Event 1164-2024)

Observer
Name Tyler P
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks First time I've ever seen something like this, I was driving in an approximately northward direction and noticed a bright orange, circular flash in the sky, I thought at first it was a firework someone set off, but it was moving in a downward trajectory and only appeared for a brief moment. There were some pieces that seemed to break off, heading in the same trajectory. Only lasted for about a second or two, very brief, and by the time I'd registered seeing it, it was already gone. My car's dash cam picked up a brief glimpse of it, but my windshield was somewhat fogged up and so it didn't really manage to capture it well, which was disappointing. In the video, it appears as a very brief point of light darting down in the sky, but in person it was significantly more visible, very bright and orange-colored, a fireball that quickly disintegrated and disappeared soon after. I mentioned it to my friend a little while later and he recommended submitting a report to this website.
