Reports Report 4305a (Event 4305-2015)

Observer
Name Duncan M
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks Some years ago I observed a meteorite in the southern sky, early evening, which appeared to be very close to my dwelling and also appeared to distinguish itself as it fell to earth not far from where I was standing at the time. It was a bright green or blue colour, and was a fantastic experience. Some time later I was walking around my property in the vicinity of where I previously saw the meteorite. I wasn't looking for it, but stumbled upon this "rock" which was sitting on top of the ground with no other rocks around it, so I picked it up and brought it back to my dwelling. It weighs about 250 gms, is dark grey on the outside and light grey on the inside. I know this because I accidentally broke it open some time after retrieving it (it seems to be quite brittle). There is about 5mm of "burn depth" all around the exterior of the rock, so I assume it is in fact the meteorite I observed.
