| Remarks | I had a clear reference by being able to see the large jet and looking back up at the large meteor, and i'm telling you it had to be huge, as the "footprint" was as large as the plane's but it was at an incredibly high altitude and travelling upward. I don't believe in UFO's (they make no sense, no reason to be here) but most people would have thought they had witnessed a sort of UFO, with a much smaller craft taking off from it. There was no burning yellow, amber, blue, green, or other color just the white, which is why i think steam produced by ice water turn to steam was responsible for the trajectory of the fragment. I'm convinced it was "blown off" but not by a metal fragmentation, so sparks, nothing. I have had a flat disc meteor with sound fly directly over my head at low altitude before, in literally the same spot. The main object appeared somewhat triangular, like a pyramid, but I believe it was actually a tilted disc or bar shaped shock wave in front of it. The speed was probably supersonic, yes, it was 7-10 times faster than the jet which had to be going well over 100 mph. It was completely silent. Amazing! Still hard to believe I saw it. If that had hit earth there would have been major trouble. The object I saw was not a reflection of the jet's light on the clouds. The directions of the motions of either had no correlation. |

| Remarks | What I saw was huge. I live near an airport flight path, and heard a jet plane . I looked up and saw this horizontal light, probably a large cylindrical, or tilted disc, it was smokey white, very high, like at the edge of the atmosphere, I was amazed at how large it must have been. I realized the sound was not from this, I turned and saw the plane behind me. This object was very high and very fast, about 5-10 time faster than the plane's motion. This was on it's own course, different from the plane. |

| Observation | Yes |
| Remarks | A bright white burst came off on a perpendicular (about 75 degree) angle headed almost due south, while the much larger object continued East and up. The fragment coming off arced downward south. I looked at the reports from Virginia and elsewhere, and I believe these people saw the fragment. This main object was huge, probably leaving our atmosphere by the time the others saw the fragment. I also think based on the direction of the fragment that it was steam propelled, that the main or both objects contained water that turned into steam. It's the only way the fragment could have "launched" off with that trajectory. It was propelled off horizontally at almost a right angle at greater speed. I truly believe the main object was a miles wide asteroid containing water. |
