Remarks I've observed many meteors over the years but this was by far the brightest and long lived I've ever seen. The meteor left a long glowing trail which quickly faded and disappeared. My colour vision isnt reliable and I can't be certain of its colour. Beginning and ending azimuths were estimated immediately after the sighting using a magnetic compass and was corrected for magnetic declination of 19deg. Beginning and ending elevation was estimated using an iPhone with an inclinometer app. The meteor went out of sight only when it passed behind trees.
