Reports Report 3525fs (Event 3525-2024)

Observer
Name Lee W
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks I felt the object came in really fast but slowed down. Usually if I see a meteor or shooting star it comes in quickly and fades out at the same speed, but this one appeared to slow down as it lit up. I've never seen a flash before, and I've never seen it brake up before.

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 6s
Length 20°
Remarks The trail was glowing, and orangey yellow initially but faded to a smokey white look after the meteor(?) burned up.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Didn't see it that clearly because it was the flash that caught my attention initially, but there was a big white flash followed by two or three successive white flashes (not as bright as the first possibly)
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks The fireball spit into two, which I've never ever seen before, and then it looked as though it may have broken into smaller pieces at the end, but I don't recall any specifics about the ensing, I'm just fairly sure that's what I saw at the time.
