Remarks 2 aircraft were coming in from the ocean flight path (SW/NE) with their nav lights on when this object appeared. At first I thought it part of the traffic but it didn't deviate (W/E) and the speed difference was notable. Very odd sighting as the fireball was slow compared to others I have seen, parallel to the horizon plus the amount of smoke was also considerable. I thought maybe an aircraft was on fire but it would have exploded immediately with the amount of glowing I saw. In all, the sighting lasted, for me, approx. 16 seconds. It disappeared from my sight before any disintegration observed. Unbelievable. I've had to observe air traffic the past couple of weeks just to confirm what I feel I saw was a fireball but the amount of smoke confirms it most for me. Fascinating indeed.
