Reports Report 4589av (Event 4589-2024)

Observer
Name Helena K
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks It was early morning light, which may have caused the trail to not appear to be glowing relative to the very intense meteor glow. It moved about as fast as a firework might if viewed like a half-mile out, but was way too high and sparked brighter than most fireworks I've seen at night! If you've ever seen footage of missiles at night that come in very fast and bright and suddenly go black right before they impact? It was like that, but moving at the wrong angle. Too sideways.

Remarks There was no glow to the trail, but it's shape resembled a contrail but instead of white it was ashy grey, and from the time I could see it (I was driving) the trail slowly broke up from a solid line similarly to how an airlines trail would. It appeared to be at a similar distance too. It couldn't have been a plane though with how fast it moved, my first instinct was a plane crash but for how far it seemed it was moving way too fast and burning way too bright
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks It reminded me of a welding arc, like a bright flash and just yellow sparking for the whole duration I saw it. It's brightness resembled a firework but it's speed, height, and the distance made it impossible, plus the grey trail was too durable for it to be anything as small as a firework
Fragmentation
Observation No
