Remarks I can quite honestly say that this was one of the most incredible and unique experiences of my life. When I saw it, I was shocked by it's brightness as well as the color. I have seen many "shooting stars" that streak high up in the sky, but this is the first "falling star" I have ever seen. Although I am sure that it was much further away than it appeared, from my perspective, it look like it fell somewhere in my neighborhood...maybe even into the yard of the neighbor across the street. I did not, however, hear anything...no "whistling" sound as it went by and no impact sound...so perhaps it was not as close as it seemed. In any case, it was a BRIGHT green color, similar to the color of a green firework. At the time that I saw it, I was shocked because it resembled a meteorite in every way except for it's color. I did not realize that GREEN meteorites existed, as all the others I have seen are bright white or yellow. After doing some research online, I learned that they DO exist and that the green glow is due to the high copper content of that particular meteorite as it burns up through our atmosphere. In any case, it was definitely one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen. I wonder if anyone else around here saw it, or if I am the only one? Please keep me informed if you hear of any other sightings of it from this area! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell you about it!
