I may have been farther down the highway going north. It was hard to place and it happened very fast. Also want to make it clear that my description here was for the entire viewing of the shooting star. It exploding into green happened and passed in a split second. It was incredible. I rolled down my window to see if I heard a boom because I thought it would hit the ground, and I wasn't entirely sure what I saw and it reminded me of what I would think a missile would look like going through the sky. Missiles don't explode like a firework as far as I know though. It reminded me a lot of what one of the bright parts of a firework going off looks like as it moved across the sky. It exploded into a green haze for a split second (maybe entered our atmosphere for a moment?) then continued and disappeared over the trees.

Remarks
It was a shooting star streaking across the sky, then seemed to explode into a green burst before continuing and leaving view over the trees
