| Remarks | Security camera video, looking Southwest from Winnipeg. The sky was clear. After seeing reports on https://fireball.amsmeteors.org from North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin, I found a camera had recorded the meteor. This is a not-great camera in a not-great location, but it is pointing Southwest. The camera records at 1980x1080 at 10fps, and has a purple blurriness. The camera is inside the house, looking through double-pane glass at an angle. I believe the additional meteor trail is a reflection/refraction, rather than meteor fragmentation. It's dark in this direction, so there aren't obvious visible houses or roofs for reference. This is the first meteor I've recorded with this camera, and the only camera I have that looks Southwest; I'm still happy. |
