Reports Report 2443dd (Event 2443-2025)

Observer
Name Steve P
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was facing away, walking mostly due west, when a bright light from over my shoulder caught my attention. It was so bright, I initially thought someone was coming up behind me in a vehicle (impossible because the road is closed legally and is blocked by massive snowdrifts from that direction), so I startled and turned to look, and saw the fireball for a few seconds.

Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks As the fireball crossed from left to right in my field of view, luminous fragments that were yellow or light orange fell away from it (close to straight down) in a brief cascade. The fragmentation looked like fireworks, but I was deep in the mountains with no one else around; in the direction I was looking there are no currently open roads for 30 miles
