| Remarks | The object was observed by my neighbour, Mrs. Morag Henriksen, a reliable "witness". Her description of the event corelates with a my personal experiences as an experienced amateur astronomer. Further to all the details given, a bright flash was noted by another local in Portree at the same time , but not without any location or direction. A more accurate location of the "Splash-down" in Portree Bay was worked out at N 57, 24 - W 006,10. In addition, the water in the bay is there approx.10 meters deep. Mrs Henriksen, my Neighbour, would be grateful to hear if there had been any other observations in and around Portree and if this could have been a part of the more widely observed fireball after its fragmentation. |
