Remarks | UPDATED report. The meteor may have started from behind me. Not sure if it passed the horizon, or broke up over Kansas. CORRECT observation time between 9:58 and 9:59 PM CST (previously reported 10:01 PM but vehicle clock is 2 minutes fast). Intense color and lit the surroundings during its brightest pulses. Night vision too disturbed to look for a train until a minute or two after fireball. Did not notice any train at that time. Waited five more minutes and listened for any distant sonic boom, but nothing was heard. |
