Reports Report 3097m (Event 3097-2013)

Observer
Name Steve H
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks I was on the Indian Nation Turnpike heading North from hwy 69. The time is approximate maybe within 10 or 15 minutes. I might guess it fell 40 - 60 miles East to SouthEast of Oklahoma City but then maybe it could have been in Kansas somewhere. I have seen a few meteors in my days but this is the first one I have seen that appeared to "explode" with a bright flash. Just curious if anyone else saw this.

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Brightness increased steadily then "sputtered" then there was a brighter flash with a distinct circular "ring" emanating horizontally from the center of the brighter flash. There was just a little more burning as it continued straight down but the dissipation was rapid after the flash and "ring"
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks Perhaps the "ring" described above was fragmentation?
