Reports Report 4981q (Event 4981-2025)

Observer
Name Trent S
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks It was impressive, I stopped my truck and got out to observe it. I've seen many many impressive Bolides and larger meteorites, but this was a very large train of flaming debris and it covered a very large section of degrees of sky arc. It is the first time I felt very compelled to report to you guys. Thank you for your service.

Remarks It seemed to larger flaming pieces of debris, that was breaking apart as it went left to right falling in low angle trajectory. After it lost a lot of mass, the final pieces of debris seemed to stay solid on fire flaming bright yellow and orange and a lil red s and brown. The overall length of the entire train out debris was considerable. Covering a large arc of degree and the trailing off pieces seemed to stay fiery for long time after they broke from the main front body. I've seen a lot of bolides,, this seemed much more a large structure that was breaking apart on fire. I don't know for sure but I was thinking a satellite or space debris. It looked like what I saw on television with the space shuttle Columbia disaster. But smaller I guess.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Their was continued flashes and then one larger one but the main core body continued on burning going forward until I lost view due to large forest trees
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks Continuous trailing off of large and smaller pieces from the moment I saw it to the time I lost site of the remaining core piece due to obstruction by large forest trees
