Reports Report 5307cr (Event 5307-2025)

Observer
Name Laura H
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks The object seemed incredibly close to me, as I had to look up at quite a steep angle to see it. I was driving north in my car on Meridian Street, approximately 1 and 1/2 rural blocks south of the Labcorp security entrance. It seemed to appear out of nowhere, last for 2-3 seconds, and then quickly disappear. I was in my car with the windows up, but I did not hear any noise I would associate with the object. It seemed to be moving slightly away from me, entering my field of vision at a sharp angle starting at (using a clock face for reference) approximately 10:30, traveling towards 4. It did not seem to be very high up in the sky, but this could have been an illusion due to how quickly it was moving. I have never seen a celestial object that shade of green (really bright, lime green), and I have thought long and hard about whether it could have been a firework or something. Because of the irregular shape of the object (the green glow was in the shape of a very lumpy potato) and the angle it traveled (sharply sloped downwards) I do not believe it could have been man-made.

Remarks The tail appeared to be glowing a bright white color and looked like a severely acute triangle coming off the main green object. It dissipated almost immediately after the green object turned blue for a millisecond and disappeared.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks The primary object was bright green with a bright white epicenter. It was present for less than 3 seconds in total. At the end, the object seemed to get ever so slightly bigger, there was less than half a moment of an orange/white light, and then the green returned for another half a moment and then the entire thing went dark. The tail disappeared a moment after the green object did.
Fragmentation
