Remarks |
Date: September 2, 2025
Time: 8:42 - 8:46 PM ET (Fireball caught on video) / 9:12 PM ET (Last capture of any and all sky activity)
Location: Southwest Florida, North Naples, Immokalee Rd. (general region)
Duration: 2 minutes 16 seconds (Fireball captured on video)
Appearance:
- Bright, spherical luminous object with continuous glow / Predominantly white, orange, yellow, red, golden light.
- Trailing filament/tail, appeared sparkly or glitter-like, especially bright when viewed with the naked eye / held tail for entire 2 minutes 16 seconds
Path:
- Entered from northwest horizon (I watched it appear right above the tree-line / perspective and trajectory of object "looked" like it was coming from the ground / It cleared above the trees and climbed up at a sharp angle).
- Passed nearly overhead (Originated by lower Ursa Major, rose up and passed through Bootes, Ophicius / Serpens, ).
- Exited toward southeast horizon.
- Full-sky traverse, horizon to horizon.
Behavior:
- Steady, controlled motion (not ballistic or erratic).
- Continuous luminosity, no fragmentation or fadeout.
- Remained bright even when entering thin cloud cover near horizon.
- No sound. Complete silence.
Remarks:
- Checked flight radar during sighting: only 1–2 normal aircraft in region; object not present on radar / Sky Guide / Stellarium
- This did not resemble a typical meteor or fireball as previously witnessed.
- Duration (>2 minutes), continuous brightness, and full-sky arc distinguish it from known meteor events.
