Yes, my whole life i am a regular sky watcher wherever i am -- from approaching thunderstorms (usually anticipated via radar, but otherwise noticed on open horizons), changing cloud patterns, sunsets, moonrises (on the sea here), and regular relaxed star gazing on evening walks.
I saw this North tilting fireball because i was casually but intentionally sky gazing in a good darker location while chatting, on a bluff above the shoreline (where i have walked & skywatched many hundreds of hours, in all seasons & conditions). I shouted in surprise when it appeared, and friend turned northward to see the end of the descending display. This was amongst the top tier of fireball / meteor / shooting stars i have ever seen.
From the angle/speed/trajectory, i would amateur guess that it entered flaring visibility above the coastal Maine region, descending Earthward at a sharper than average angle, pretty much steeply aiming upper right to lower left Due North.
