Remarks not sure if it wss persistence of vision from fireballs but as it passed overhead and the background sky darker I could visualize a glowing trail of 15-20 degrees.

Remarks consolidated fireball till 60 degress above southwest horizon. At point it passed and highest above horizon it could have been 75-80 degrees. lost sight looking northeast at about 40 degrees above horizon. Five brighter balls mixed with a dozen or more intermixed lesser fireballs. These were spanning 10-15 degrees when ovethead.
