| Remarks | I was shooting baskets at the basketball court and saw the fireball briefly as I turned away from the hoop and it descended behind the park treeline. I saw a slightly longer, more colorful one while at the basketball court in April, 2024 (which I reported to your site). I read that seeing them is rare - but I am faithfully reporting what I saw - perhaps I'm just lucky - or shooting basketball at night is a good opportunity to spot them. I have difficulty understanding some of your graphics - especially the depiction of the fireball - what I saw was dense/compact in the front with a short glittering trail behind. Not sure if I identified correctly in your graphic but basically about 30 degrees above the horizon in the NNE of the sky dropping for about 1 or 2 seconds. |
