Reports Report 6644be (Event 6644-2025)

Observer
Name Brian H
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I only saw it very briefly as a gap appeared in the clouds. I was actually looking at the moon. It had suddenly appeared from behind a cloud. The fireball was slightly to the left of the moon. It was larger and brighter than the moon. I expected to hear a boom as it was close to the horizon, its speed and downward direction suggested an almost immediate impact. However there was total silence! Whereas the full moon was white and very clear, the fireball was yellowish with orange streaks similar to flames. I thought it was a plane crashing! There was no trail. I was observing from 4th floor balcony. I watch the sky daily for at least 2 hours a night , weather permitting.
