Remarks | I saw this fireball through my front window while watching TV. It was probably visibile much longer outside, but my porch roof blocked the view until it had descended to 15 or 20 degrees above the horizon. Its apparent motion was nearly vertical (downward), but very slightly to the right/west, also. (Maybe 5 or 10 degrees off vertical.) It could have been brighter than -11 magnitude, since I was viewing from indoors in a lit room. I ran outside to look for a glowing trail and listen for sonic booms, but returned inside after a minute or two due to the cold and wind. While outside for that minute or two, I saw no trail and hear no sounds. |
