I am an FDNY paramedic sitting in my ambulance at around 2 a.m. and I saw a an extremely bright light from almost directly above my truck. It appeared to be a meteor, but much larger, brighter, and closer than I have ever seen before. It was travelling from South to north on an arch. Lasted approximately 2 or 3 seconds. It was so bright I could see it clearly through cloud coverage, with a Cresent moon, somewhat foggy skies, and the ny city lights in the distance. When it hit the open sky, it was the brightest, largest object I have ever seen from space. It appeared to be just above the cloud coverage, that's how big and bright it was. It did not break apart, or make any sound. It did have a "tail". Same color white as the head. Very very cool to see. |
