It may have been a comet or something else. But it was too short to be a rocket or anything. Also, the location and timing are EXTREMELY approximate. It was a late night of driving and I'm not 100% sure where I was or the exact time. The direction is very accurate because I was driving west and I saw it at a 10-50 degree angle to the left (angle of my head and neck, straight forward 0 and left shoulder 90). It also may have been pointed slightly in the other direction. It was VERY vertical. Like I said, I thought it was a bomb about to hit near me. I just wanted to see if anyone else saw it because I wasn't sure what I saw. I also haven't been able to find anything online because the Northern Lights happened in other places at the same time. I just remember I was driving and all of a sudden, my eyes darted to it and it was like the most stereotypical shooting star cartoon drawing, but real. The orangeish ball of light was bright and did almost look like a 5-pointed star a few times. It had a super orange/burnt orange tail that flowed behind. It stayed the same length until it disappeared. I took a basic astronomy class in college so I'd love to know what I saw. I googled if there were any meteor showers or comets that night, but nothing conclusive came up. I hope yall have a wonderful day. |
