Experience Level 2/5
Remarks I feel kind of silly doing this because I am no astronomer and worry people will think I'm crazy, but this was an amazing sight that I can't shake! I looked up whether it was possible for me to see what I saw and it appears that it is possible! I've never seen something so bright green in the night sky outside of fireworks and this was moving the opposite direction of a firework! Upon doing a little research, I am even more convinced that I am not losing my mind and really did see a meteorite! The other videos of meteorites are similar to what I saw!! So even though I'm a novice and was just driving home on I-40 when I saw this, I feel like I needed to tell someone. The time I stated was approximate... it was sometime around 8 that evening.

Remarks The tail (trail!? I'm not sure what you call it) was a bright, decently wide, green streak going almost straight down (slightly to the left of my view) and then it seemed like it blew up into two smaller brighter circles before it disappeared- yellow and green- it was fast! I didn't even have time to yell at my husband to look before it was gone- just gasped!
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks It's like it blew up into two smaller brighter circles right before it disappeared- yellow and green- super quick and super exciting!!
