| Remarks | I was at a stop sign facing North, it came from the East, heading west to a tad south west and was almost directly above us. The angle it was going made it seem like it could land/hit between Indianapolis and somewhere west of there, possibly many states away. It was headed west (and towards the Earth) from the spot I was at. It was so bright! I have seen many meteors but this one was the first big one worth mentioning that I've seen since I was a kid. It was the second brightest and one of the longest lasting of all of them I've seen in person. The sky was partially cloudy and it made the clouds as it passed glow brightly like daylight but the neon green color. It was a pretty epic sight for the kids and myself on the drive home after a trip to look at Christmas lights. Space showing off was much better than any lights than we saw. So awesome! I really hope it was caught on film somewhere. |

| Remarks | Faint glowing train, fading quickly. This is the 4th I've seen in my life like this, that was so intensely bright and neon green. It was the second brightest I've ever seen, (the brightest was over 25 years ago). Bright neon green is an understatement, and it lasted for what seemed like at least 4-5 seconds. Very large, very bright, it was extremely close compared to most "shooting stars," and left a relatively wide train that lasted a second or two just behind it. It appeared to be at an angle to make contact with land eventually, very much west of where I was, as in possibly states away, (but I didn't hear, see or feel anything making me believe that it had hit). It was awesome though. I hope it was caught on film somewhere. Beautiful sight to have seen. |
