Remarks We’re were cruising at 34,000 ft, from Boise to Seattle over Baker City Oregon, at 10:07pm, when we saw a brilliant white light flash several times out of the west (magnetic heading 270), lighting up the flight deck brighter than day. Approximately 15 degrees above the horizon to perhaps 5 degrees below. Left to right. Nearly vertical, perhaps 160 degrees. I pondered if something this size would cause a sonic boom. ******* We were flying out of Boise last night headed to Seattle. We were about halfway across Washington state, over Baker City at 10:07pm, when suddenly there was a brilliant white light and the cockpit lit up briefly as if it were day. Brighter than day. Twice in quick succession. Under a fraction of a second. To the west, probably over the Washington Oregon border. It scared both of us. It seemed like it happened right next to the plane, but in reality it was likely hundreds of miles well away from us. My copilot initially thought it was a lightning bolt, but we're cruising at 34,000 feet and there's not a single cloud in the sky at our altitude for thousands of miles. In any direction. Due to the quick flashing nature of the light, I initially thought it was another airliner rapidly descending out of the sky and was about to hit us. As I looked up, I saw the fading trail of a meteorite, and realized what we had seen. After awhile I pondered out loud if something this size would have made a sonic boom, alerting everyone on the ground. I wondered silently if we had just seen an angel. As we cruised along and marveled at what we had just seen, I felt as if the Holy Spirit was saying something. Much of Washington and Oregon was covered by cloud, and it being late at night I realized very few people had seen this. I made a PA for the passengers as I’m sure those on the left side of the plane would have been just as startled. The flight attendants said no one seemed to had noticed. I swapped and monitored the emergency radio frequency on our other radio. Normally something like this would have pilots excitedly chattering asking what was that, did anyone else see that, etc. Nothing. On the ground, I tried to find a news report or video. Again, nothing. Sharing this with my cousin, who sees and hears in the Spirit, she started speaking and confirming through scripture her morning thoughts and journaling, writing scripture that had been on my mind all day yesterday: I see every sparrow that falls I know and count every hair I knit you in your mothers womb After seeing the meteor I felt the Lord was saying: There is a spiritual blindness over the land. My people do not see.
