Reports Report 10417d (Event 10417-2025)

Observer
Name Edith Bell B
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was looking at the ground walking the dog facing North when a bright flash out of the corner of my eye caused me to turn to my left then facing almost West. A bright green ball of light exploded in the dark sky, I looked up to see a ball in the front with a tail trailing behind what looked like sparklers (3-4). It all happened so fast and I wasn't fully alert until I saw it, I was unable to think to take a picture until I realized what I had just witnessed. It gave me chills. Because at first I thought it was a Roman candle but I heard no sound of explosions, I stood still and waited for another flash of light in case someone was shooting fireworks, I waited close to 10 minutes wanting to verify what I had seen. Because of where I live, in a dark rural area, it's not unusual for me to see shooting stars, but I had never seen a bright green one such as this. I usually witness white shooting stars just before dawn in the NE sky as I walk the dog.
