Remarks I was taking out the trash when I noticed the sky suddenly got bright. When i turned around there was a bright orange streak traveling across the sky that was brighter than the street lights and moon. It looked similar to a shooting star but larger, brighter, and was leaving a trail of smoke. However based on the duration it may have been space debris. The duration was about 10 seconds and I first noticed it above San Rafael CA and based on trajectory it almost looked as if it was going to “land” in the direction San Francisco CA. I did not have my phone with me at the time but hopefully someone in the bay area happened to catch the event on camera and can confirm if it was a fireball.
