Reports Report 442bw (Event 442-2026)

Observer
Name Stacy P
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This was so awesome! It did not light up the entire sky. I was looking directly at it when it started, as was my entire car of people going south on I-5 near Creswell, Oregon. We live in a dark area with minimal interstate or roadside lighting, so the extreme brightness of the fireball was intense!

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 1s
Length 70°
Remarks The train was extremely bright white with outside edges of bright blueish purple. It faded fast, slightly over 1 second in time.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I believe we did because the fireball was so extremely bright itself, not that it lit up the entire sky, but the white brightness of the fireball was intense. It had sharp edges and lines edged in bluish purple. The fireball was a bright light green and went out as a brighter white.
Fragmentation
Observation Unknown
