| Remarks | Just happened to be looking almost exactly where it entered the atmosphere. I saw a large orange spark, or flicker like in the sky west of the Orion constellation, which intensified quickly until it burst into flames. From my perspective it appeared about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in diameter, and at it's largest and brightest it's tail was about 1.5 to 2 inches long. As it the object got smaller the tail got longer until it burnt out. I'm unsure if it fragmented, but if it did, it stayed in a very tight grouping. The object entered the atmosphere approx. 70 degrees above the horizon from an east-southeasterly direction and flew in an almost flat trajectory in a west-northwest direction. The entire event last about 10-15 seconds. |
