To the American Meteor Society Operations Team,
I am submitting a detailed historical report of an exceptional high-magnitude bolide event witnessed in Tela, Atlántida, Honduras, circa 2014, at approximately 11:00 PM.
At the time, my cousin and I were in an open soccer field in front of my house, which provided a completely unobstructed, wide-angle view of the sky.
Key Observational Details:
Binary System & Position: I observed two distinct, solid rocky bodies traveling in a synchronized and stable trajectory. From my perspective, a larger primary body was on the left, and a smaller companion followed to the right.
Trajectory: From my position in Tela, the objects were traveling in a clear direction toward Guatemala and Mexico (Westward).
High Geological Resolution: The objects exhibited low angular velocity (perceived as "slow motion"). Crucially, the luminosity was not blinding, allowing me to distinctly observe the physical surface of the rocks, including craters, ridges, and geological textures on both bodies.
Transparent Plasma Sheath: A remarkable feature was that the "fire" or plasma enveloping the rocks appeared transparent. It acted as a glowing, translucent "skin" that adhered to the bodies, illuminating the craters and surface details from within rather than obscuring them.
Chromatic Palette: The event displayed a vivid multi-color spectrum, including deep red, orange, and yellow, with intense flashes of vivid blue and purple.
Trajectory & Fade-out: The objects crossed the horizon majestically and faded out steadily without a terminal explosion, consistent with an Earth-grazing trajectory at high altitude.
I am currently residing in the United States and am prepared to provide a detailed witness sketch illustrating the crater textures and the unique transparent plasma layer if required.
Sincerely,
