It was closer then any "shooting star" I've ever seen. My first thought was that a plane was crashing on my commute to work because I could see the blue flames but it seamed brake and burn up pretty quickly.

There was a bright flash when it first appeared, it streaked across the sky and the looked like it had smaller flashes (pieces) coming off of it before the light disappeared.
