I live in a 3rd floor condo and saw this while looking west out of my bedroom window; the object fell pretty much straight down and I lost it after it went behind the condo building across from mine. It was spectacular! I feel fortunate to have witnessed it, although it was very quick; I can only describe it as looking like a falling star but much larger! I wish I could have recorded it.
