Remarks I’m so glad I had my nephew in the passenger seat as a witness while I was driving. I had just picked him and my Mother up from the Westchester County Airport and we were on our way home via I-84 heading west bound. The time I gave was an approximate time based on the arrival of their flight, which was 11:05pm. I was driving when all of a sudden I see from the left, and clear and bright as day, this ball of beautiful color, mostly comprised of teal and green, with hints of blue, white and pink falling from the sky over into the valley of mountains. It had a clear white train. I immediately yelled out loud to my nephew and he saw it. We both were yelling in excitement because of what we just saw. He wondered if it was a UFO that had crashed. He doesn’t know much about astronomy, but, hey, it might well have been. I’m a daily observer of the night sky and have NEVER seen anything THIS close before. I watch the meteor showers whenever I can, but always see them at such a distance. What I saw on Tuesday night though had to have been 150-200 yards away. It appeared to be THAT close. It was right on the other side of the highway, a bit beyond that. So I suppose you could figure it out if you were provided with that area’s highway numbers. I still remain in awe of what I saw that night, and especially being a lover of the cosmos, feel so grateful to have been there at that exact time to see such a sight. It will be forever sketched in my memory.
