I was driving on an on-ramp merging on to I80 when I saw the fireball. I could only see it for about 2-4 seconds before it was out of sight. It seemed to almost disappear completely in just a few seconds. Although I could not hear anything I did see the tail of it sputter twice.

Remarks
The trail seemed to be coming from the fireball. It looked like it spurted twice, as if it were going out. Then I lost sight of the fireball all together.
