I went outside because the dogs in the neighborhood and what sounded like surrounding areas were all howling and barking including my dog. I took my dog out back and it was quiet except so many dogs barking and howling. I just happened to look up at the moon and saw it. It was to the left of the moon. No tail or a very short tail. It was very quick and big! It was half the size of my pinky nail. I've never seen anything like it! Soon after it was over all the dogs slowly started to quiet down. Me and my dog stayed outside for a few more minutes and all was quiet.

Remarks
It looked like a little explosion in the sky. No fragmentation that I noticed. It just became dark sky again.
