Remarks |
Clear sky, observed from a fixed indoor position (Die Rosenhardt, Wagenfeld) with a clear view of the horizon. The object appeared in the North-East (approx. 65° elevation 32°) and traveled in a shallow, stable trajectory toward the East (approx. 83°), disappearing behind a known reference point (a group of oak trees approx. 300m away).
Key Characteristics:
Apparent Size & Scale: The luminous plasma front was massive. Compared to the trunk of a 200-year-old oak tree in my line of sight, the fireball appeared roughly 40 to 80 times wider than the tree's diameter.
Luminosity & Color: Extremely bright white main phase (significantly brighter than the full moon). A distinct color shift occurred just before the end of the luminous phase, where the "leading edge" turned a deep orange/red for a fraction of a second.
Dynamics: No visible fragmentation or terminal flash. The bolide did not explode; the light simply extinguished abruptly, suggesting a transition into dark flight. No sonic boom or rumbling was heard within several minutes of the event. |
