Remarks Witness Observation Report – Suspected Meteor / Fireball While operating my work vehicle, I was traveling westbound as part of my normal route. I then made a right turn and began heading north. Immediately after turning north, I observed several flashes of light in the sky to my left side/peripheral vision. The flashes resembled distant lightning illuminating the sky. At first, I thought there may have been a thunderstorm or lightning activity occurring. I then looked directly toward the source of the flashes and observed a very long, bright orange streak across the sky. The object appeared much longer than a typical shooting star or meteor. It was bright orange in color and seemed to extend a significant distance across the sky. Near the center/front portion of the streak, there appeared to be a brighter concentrated section that seemed to pulse or glow like a fireball. The object appeared almost frozen in the sky for a brief moment, despite also appearing to streak across it. The entire event happened very quickly. From the first flashes seen in my peripheral vision to the disappearance of the orange streak, I estimate the total duration was approximately 2 to 5 seconds. After that, the object disappeared completely.
